Remove Claude’s formatting from Outlook
Outlook preserves pasted HTML, so copying straight from Claude carries its class names — the ones containing “claude” — into an Outlook email. They are invisible while you read, but present in the source and readable by anyone who looks. Paste with Ctrl+Shift+V, or use Home → Paste → Keep Text Only.

- Outlook composes in HTML by default, so a normal paste carries Claude's class names into the sent message.
- Every recipient can view the message source, and in a corporate tenant so can anyone with mailbox access or eDiscovery.
- Outlook also applies its own AutoCorrect, producing smart quotes and em dashes in text you typed yourself.
The fastest fix
Paste with Ctrl+Shift+V, or use Home → Paste → Keep Text Only.
That handles the markup. It does not handle zero-width characters, non-breaking and exotic spaces, smart quotes or em dashes, which are text rather than formatting and survive every paste route on every platform.
