Remove Claude’s formatting from Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams preserves pasted HTML, so copying straight from Claude carries its class names — the ones containing “claude” — into a Teams message. They are invisible while you read, but present in the source and readable by anyone who looks. Paste with Ctrl+Shift+V to paste without formatting.

- Teams keeps pasted formatting and the markup behind it, so a normal paste from a chat interface carries provider class names into the message.
- Messages sit in the organisation's tenant and are subject to retention policy, eDiscovery and compliance search — a far longer-lived record than the chat window suggests.
- Zero-width characters survive and interfere with search, so a message may not match the words it appears to contain.

That handles the markup. It does not handle zero-width characters, non-breaking and exotic spaces, smart quotes or em dashes, which are text rather than formatting and survive every paste route on every platform.
