Remove Claude’s formatting from Moodle
Moodle preserves pasted HTML, so copying straight from Claude carries its class names — the ones containing “claude” — into a Moodle assignment or forum post. They are invisible while you read, but present in the source and readable by anyone who looks. Switch the editor to HTML source view and delete the class attributes, or paste through a plain-text editor first.

- Moodle's rich-text editor keeps pasted markup and offers a source view, so the class names survive and are readable.
- Forum posts are visible to the whole cohort, not only the instructor, which makes them the higher-exposure route of the two.
- Moodle logs every view and edit with a timestamp, so submission timing is part of the record regardless of what the text contains.
The fastest fix
Switch the editor to HTML source view and delete the class attributes, or paste through a plain-text editor first.
That handles the markup. It does not handle zero-width characters, non-breaking and exotic spaces, smart quotes or em dashes, which are text rather than formatting and survive every paste route on every platform.
