Remove Claude’s formatting from Confluence
Confluence preserves pasted HTML, so copying straight from Claude carries its class names — the ones containing “claude” — into a Confluence page. They are invisible while you read, but present in the source and readable by anyone who looks. Use the source editor, or paste with Ctrl+Shift+V to strip formatting.

- Confluence's editor preserves a subset of pasted HTML, and page history keeps every version — so cleaning it later does not remove it from the record.
- Page source is visible to anyone with view access, which in most organisations is a lot of people.
The fastest fix
Use the source editor, or paste with Ctrl+Shift+V to strip formatting.
That handles the markup. It does not handle zero-width characters, non-breaking and exotic spaces, smart quotes or em dashes, which are text rather than formatting and survive every paste route on every platform.
