Remove Claude’s formatting from Canvas
Canvas preserves pasted HTML, so copying straight from Claude carries its class names — the ones containing “claude” — into a Canvas assignment submission. They are invisible while you read, but present in the source and readable by anyone who looks. Use the HTML editor toggle in the Rich Content Editor and remove the class attributes, or submit a file instead.

The fastest fix
Use the HTML editor toggle in the Rich Content Editor and remove the class attributes, or submit a file instead.
That handles the markup. It does not handle zero-width characters, non-breaking and exotic spaces, smart quotes or em dashes, which are text rather than formatting and survive every paste route on every platform.
