Remove Claude’s formatting from Medium
Medium discards pasted HTML, so Claude's class names do not survive into a Medium story. What does survive is character-level: zero-width characters, exotic spaces, smart quotes and em dashes. Paste normally, then check for invisible characters and smart punctuation.
Check yours first. Paste the text into the free checker and it lists every artifact with its exact position — no account, nothing uploaded, unlimited.
Check my text →What Medium keeps
- Medium strips most pasted markup into its own format, so class names generally do not survive.
- Character-level artifacts do survive, and Medium's own typography converts quotes and dashes anyway.
The fastest fix
Paste normally, then check for invisible characters and smart punctuation.
That handles the markup. It does not handle zero-width characters, non-breaking and exotic spaces, smart quotes or em dashes, which are text rather than formatting and survive every paste route on every platform.
